01What are the visiting hours?
Patients on the wards can be visited at these times:
Morning: 6:00 am – 7:00 am
Afternoon: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Evening: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Please bring your ID card — you need it to visit a patient.
02Can I bring food for a patient on the ward?
The hospital diet meets the nutritional needs of every patient, including those on special meal plans.
Allowed: packeted milk, whole fruits, bread, bottled water, yoghurt and cakes.
Not allowed: any cooked food (for example ugali, rice, githeri, chapati, vegetables, fish, meat, chicken, beans, ndengu, cooked bananas, potatoes, chips, sausages, boiled eggs), tea, porridge, soda and alcoholic drinks.
03What do I need before admission? Do you accept SHA?
Everyone must be fully registered in the hospital system before being admitted to a ward — this keeps your care smooth.
If you are using SHA (Social Health Authority), make sure your cover is active and up to date before treatment and admission. Inpatient cover through Minet (MAKL) is also handled — please ask at registration.
