- Manages booking and appointment scheduling for specialty clinics and consultants.
- Codes and indexes various conditions following the international classification of diseases.
- Conducts data collection, collation, analysis, and presentation.
- Safely stores and retrieves medical records.
- Prepares clinics, including patient scheduling for consultants and specialty clinics.
- Updates the bed bureau for efficient bed management.
- Edits patient case records to ensure accuracy.
- Captures data from service points for comprehensive patient records.
- Ensures the safety and confidentiality of records.
- Balances daily bed returns to optimize resource utilization.
OPD Health Record Desk:
Location: Just in front of you upon entering the main entrance.
Functions:
- Focuses on patient registration services.
- Operates during daytime hours and shifts services to the Accident and Emergency Section at night.
- Staffed by a Health Records and Information Officer (HRIO) and a cashier, both serving outpatient clients.
Accident and Emergency Registration Desk:
Location: Operates within the Accident and Emergency Section.
Functions:
- Provides continuous registration services 24/7.
- Staffed by a Health Records and Information Officer (HRIO) handling client registration and other related duties.
Physiotherapy/Mental Unit Health Records Section:
Location: Positioned between the physiotherapy and mental health units at VCRH.
Intended to Serve:
Clients from Physiotherapy, Mental Health, Mortuary, Eye Unit, and Oncology Unit due to proximity.
Can cater to any client within the hospital based on walking distance between doctors' locations and the registration section.
